THURSDAY THOUGHTS!

chocolate-cosmos-s4x3_lg Outside my window…we’re in for more rain…same as last week and again, cooler temps are right behind it!  Very happy!
I am thinking…happy thoughts for my sister.  She is getting married this weekend and I couldn’t be more happy for her and Darrell, the man she is marrying. He’s a very good match for her, overall good guy and I welcome him into our family!
I am thankful for…the generosity of others.  We have experienced this in a number of ways here lately and it’s at times like these, you realize that there are good and decent people all around you.
From the kitchen…hamburger helper tonight.  Not a huge fan but hey, it’s a cheap dinner and it feeds the family!  Kevin’s parents brought over more zucchini last night and so I plan to chop that up as well.
I am wearing…Black pants, BRIGHT green shirt and sandals…sad but this is the exact same thing I was wearing  last Thursday!
I am reading…still, nothing!
I am hoping…that Kevin’s interview goes well.  He has a 2nd interview tomorrow with Schwann’s and we hope it will result in a job!  Plus think of the discount we will get on their food!  Yum!
I am creating…I started sanding, and sanding, and more sanding the dresser…see the pic a few posts below! Whew…hard work but it will probably be a few more weekends before we get it ready to paint.
I am hearing…the radio in my office and some co-workers talking.
One of my favorite things…laughing.  Kevin got me laughing so hard last night that I had to cover my mouth and was almost crying.  Laughter heals.
A few plans for the rest of the week…tonight, I have to pick up some baby clothes off of freecycle!  If you haven’t noticed, I love freecycle!  Tomorrow, really no plans in the evening.  Saturday, spend the day celebrating my sister’s wedding.  Sunday, church and home chores and enjoying the beautiful weather!

THURSDAY THOUGHTS!

Outside my window…it’s a rainy day but I’m happy because cooler weather is coming with it.  We’ve had a couple of weeks of high heat and I’m NOT a summer type of gal…I prefer the cooler temps.
I am thinking…I REALLY need to clean the living room carpet this weekend.  It is so filthy from the kids being home all summer and so I really need to get on the ball and get this done.
I am thankful for…feeling the movement of the peanut in my belly.  This week, she has really started to make herself known and it’s such fun feeling her move around.  I can say that now because the movement is still “light” and no kicks yet!
From the kitchen…nothing on the menu for tonight.  I have a school meeting tonight, which I’ll go to right after work, and so I’m thinking it’s going to be a “grab-what-you-want” type of night.  I did make the zucchini bread (recipe a few posts below) and it was WONDERFUL.  I have four more bags of frozen zucchini already chopped and ready to go and so I might have to be making another batch this weekend!
I am wearing…Black pants, BRIGHT green shirt and black cardigan.
I am reading…nothing at the moment.  I should say that I’ve been trying to read through the magazines that have been collecting dust in my bedroom basket and so I guess that’s “reading”!
I am hoping…that Kevin’s interview goes well…he has an interview on Sunday with Burger King for management and although he wasn’t really wanting to get back in to “retail” or whatever you want to call Burger King, we will definitely take it.  Please say some prayers for him.
I am creating…I need to start on the sanding of the dresser I got from freecycle the week before last!
I am hearing…the radio and the air conditioning in my office.
One of my favorite things…watching this new laugh that Isabella has developed here in the last couple of weeks.  I can, in NO way shape or form, describe this laugh in words but to see her do it is hilarious!
A few plans for the rest of the week…Tonight, I have Samuel’s first grade “meet the teacher” night and so I plan to go to that.  This weekend, no plans other than trying to start sanding down the dresser I picked up last week from Freecycle.  Saturdy, the high is only going to be 72 and so we might have to get out to a park or something to enjoy the beautiful weather!  Sunday, I have nursery duty at church and I look forward to this as I got moved to the “babies” after being with the 2 year olds for a year!  It will be a nice change!

THURSDAY THOUGHTS!

Outside my window…it’s a beautiful COOL morning…only 48 degrees. But the birds are chirping and we’re off to a good start.
I am thinking…that I have great neighbors. I just love the comradery that we have here on the street with the other parents and we get along so well. Also, yesterday, one of the mothers took the boys to see a movie with her 2 sons and I just thought that was such a nice gesture on her part…taking 4 boys to see a movie is an adventure of itself!
I am thankful for…that I was able to get us on my insurance at work while Kevin is off. I was nervous that things wouldn’t go as planned but I was able to sign the family up and we’re already enrolled! A quick and easy process, although not cheap! Ha!
From the kitchen…I’m not sure yet. I haven’t set anything out but the day is early and so I have time! Because Kevin has been home, he’s been doing a lot of the cooking here lately and getting quite good at it!
I am wearing…I’m still in my pajama’s! I woke up at 5:15 this morning and just couldn’t get back to sleep and so came on downstairs and got on the computer!
I am reading…nothing at the moment…it’s summer and the kids are home and I’ve just been too busy. I signed the kids up thought for the summer reading program at the library and they have the program for adults as well.
I am hoping…that Kevin’s second phone interview goes well today! Say some prayers!
I am creating…nothing at the moment but have plans for another 3 baby rag quilts! I want to make one for another girlfriend as a gift and then one of my girlfriends in Michigan wants me to make her one for each of her children.
I am hearing…the news. Because it’s so early, I have the TV to myself!
One of my favorite things…when I have moments like this to myself! Usually it’s in the evening after everyone has gone to sleep and the whole house is quiet.
A few plans for the rest of the week…Tonight, the “parent” football game with Caden. Kevin will be playing as a teammate with Caden. Saturday, we have the last of the football games for the boys and they will also get their trophies that day as well. Sunday, church and Life Group.
